OVERVIEW

Know some tips on how to treat common cold and how to boost your immunity and tackle the cold by just following few precautions for common cold cure. Cold spreads through hand contact, used articles, and coughing and sneezing. It is mainly due to viral infection. The important symptoms are nose discharge, sneezing and coughing. It may be accompanied by headache, malaise and sore throat. The person is sick for 7 to 10 days and may resolve on its own. It may lead to complications like sinusitis and rarely pneumonia.

PRECAUTIONS

If you are prone to get cold, avoid cold foods like ice cream and cold drinks. Drink lukewarm water. In cold season, wear sweater everyday, especially outdoors and at night time when the temperature decreases. Avoid overcrowded places. After you come back after visiting overcrowded public places, do not forget to wash your hands. Sleep well for 8 hours everyday. Eat healthy food. Avoid overcrowded places as they are high risk of getting cold infection. After visiting public places maintain hand hygiene by washing your hands.

CURE

If you are having sore throat, please gargle with lukewarm salt water 2, 3 times a day. For cold you can take steam inhalations 2, 3 times a day. Do exercises. Have sleep for 7, 8 hours everyday. Do not take stress. In severe cold and cough visit a doctor. May require pain killer for body ache example paracetamol and it also alleviates fever.In few cases antibiotic for infection may be required.
